Our story

multi-colored psychedelic background for Blue Sky Dogs info

The Blue Sky Dogs embody the spirit of the Allman Brothers Band with their authentic and passionate performances of high-energy, southern blues rock. Their connection to the Allman Brothers Band roots and their desire to honor the legacy of Duane and Gregg Allman is evident in every note they play. The positive vibe they bring to each show is palpable, leaving audiences with a soulful and uplifting experience that echoes the brotherhood of the ABB.

Lead guitarist, Tom Kiefaber's connection to the Allman Brothers Band comes from Tom’s father, Tom Kiefaber Sr. who played bass with Dickey Betts in “The Jokers” in the 60’s before Dickey joined the Allman Bros. Rick Derringer referenced The Jokers in his song, “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo."

Tom’s first musical memory is being backstage at an Allman Brothers show when he was four years old while his dad performed with the band. Tom and his father performed together with the Allman Brothers Band several times.
